This is a tiny portion of the mixed diver flock off of the parking lot at Chickamauga Dam, but most of the Scoters were staying in somewhat the same area, not spread from one of the flock to the next. There are about 30 White-wings in this shot (taken at only 200mm to give a better representation of what the group looks like with the naked eye when you arrive), out of the 60 or so that were here on this day. They do move around a bit, and some left for other parts of the lake while I was there.
Most of the outer birds in this shot are Scoters (with a few Coots), and several sleeping Greater Scaup with that big, rounded, but fairly flat-topped head obvious, as well as the Redheads which were by far the most abundant diver here today.
