After leaving the dam (nothing in that area but Common Loons), we made our way north and not finding much of interest at Webb Rd or Booker T State Park. But, soon after arriving at Vincent Rd boat launch, I found this dusky-necked young Red-throated Loon, and we had an adult at the end of the road here.
In addition to the typical pattern of a young Red-throated (grayish-washed neck with white chin area), the thin slightly upturned bill and peak at rear crown show much better than I had expected on this quite distant bird.
