Neotropic Cormorant

Mud Lake; Lake Co TN view map

This adult Neo was initially seen on the water with 3 Double-crested's, and though distant seen well thru my Kowa. About the time I was ready to try and digiscope, one of the DC's, and then the Neo, took off. The Neo flew away initially, then circled back around which gave me this bad, but my only, opportunity for a shot.

Though a terrible shot, the proportionally long tail shows up pretty well.

I didn't see Jeff's Neotropics either pass along the Great River Rd, but didn't spend a lot of time looking in the sweltering heat. Did see one of the birds at Lake #9 in KY, for a new state bird for both TN and KY today.
