We began the day well, with two flyover Muscovies as I arrived, then this single adult, followed by three young birds. Lighting was terrible, but it was great to finally these birds on the Rio Grande after several attempts here and elsewhere on my last trips.

The big white covert patch was even more obvious than I remembered from Venezuela.
