The Church of St Mary and St David in Kilpeck may be my favorite church in the world. Built around 1140, it amazingly was not destroyed or renovated in a more modern style, and is a beautiful example of the Norman/Romanesque style.
The carvings are a combination of Celtic, Saxon, Scandinavian, and Christian symbols.
The condition of the carvings is so good because the old red sandstone is very fine.
