The HAS (Houston Audubon Society) and HANPA (Houston Audubon Nature Photography Association) both asked me to speak about photographing bird behavior in October (14 and 21 respectively). Whether you are a birder who is photographing birds or a photographer interested in avian photos, one of these meetings might be of interest to you. As one of the examples I will use photos of the Sanderling fights (HANPA meeting) to explain how anybody, and I mean anybody, can get similar photos (based on the knowledge of this species’ behavior) routinely rather than only a once in a ‘lifetime’ opportunity which is usually missed because one could not predict the action that lasted a second or two and to the human eye looked like a blurry ball moving above the ground. I will even tell you what "trick" to watch for, no kidding, that stimulates the fight between two Sanderlings. http://www.houstonaudubon.org/default.aspx/act/newsletter.aspx/category/Activities/MenuGroup/Home/NewsLetterID/1510/startrow/2.htm http://www.houstonaudubon.org/default.aspx/act/newsletter.aspx/category/Activities/menuitemid/789/MenuGroup/Home/NewsLetterID/1007/startrow/3.htm
