Not too long time ago I presented photos of Osprey taking a blue crab. Here is another example of the Osprey catching a large blue crab. This time crab fought back using its claws to defend itself. It worked. The Osprey after crab pinched its leg loosened the grip and let the crab go. Perhaps the Osprey did not like the pinch and did not want to be pinched again as he raised its legs during take off :), something these birds usually don’t do at this stage of lifting up.
