Swainson's Hawk in Buchanan County VA

This Swainson's Hawk, native to the Western U.S. appeared late in the evening in Breaks, VA in Southwest VA on October 26, 2013. Members of the Buchanan County Bird Club managed to get these photos. The perched photos were taken from nearly a quarter of a mile away, some through a scope with an IPhone after the bird had settled in for the night. The photos of the bird in flight were taken the next morning as the bird left its roost.
