In the 'prolongued Easter-weekend' (Thursday evening March 24th to Wednesday evening March 30th) 2005 Messrs. JapanCamera.nl was so generous as to allow me to test-drive a brandnew Canon EOS 350D / Digital Rebel XT / Digital Kiss N.
As part of another evaluation (to 100-400L IS or to 300F4L IS + 1.4x II ??) I was also handed a 2nd hand/Demo prime, a Canon EF 300F4L IS USM. Together with the EF1.4x II Extender I already own (for use with the 70-200L IS) this lens becomes a 420mm F5.6, on a full-frame (my EOS 33 film-) body.
F5.6 is the minimum allowed aperture for AutoFocus to work (on *my* Canon camera's).
On the EOS 20D / 350D bodies this lens gives a Field-of-View of 672mm (420mm x 1.6 cropfactor), Image Stabilized.
