"SEAYEW" ALL SPIFFED UP AND READY TO SAIL.
Some added information on this lovely boat.....
It was a Dutch-born fellow who worked on it for seven years. The vessel, a Herreshoff 23, is made of strip-planked western
red cedar over a backbone of yellow cedar and is sloop rigged. Its deck-stepped wooden mast sits in a tabernacle for ease of
rigging powered by a sturdy auxiliary diesel. The interior is finished in traditional mixtures of contrasting woods, brass and
bronze.
And she is said to possess yare.

:: The barn ::
This is the old barn my friend Jo and I went to photograph. The first time I had no film in my camera and so had to revisit. I had a Minolta 100 SLR. Funny how the thrill of clicking that button changes on the second time around. Not quite the same. After that I seriously looked into digital media and got my Nikon to take these pictures.
:: Goldstream Park 2 ::
This was my second visit to Goldstream Park. It was a sunny day in the early afternoon. I played with settings on my camera to make it +\- for the amount of light. Most were still too dark. Again I was disappointed so buZZed a lot of them.
I am showing the original shot as a thumbnail below the buZZed version to compare what I thought was an improvement over a poor photograph. Although some of them aren't complete failures I still wanted to see what they looked like buZZed. As you can tell I love buZZ.
:: A week of snow. ::
We do live in Canada but we are not used to many continuous days of snow and subzero temperatures. On November 26 this year we had snow and a forecast for more to come with many nights at minus five or more. In the same city my sister was never without power. We live in a rural area and trees were the biggest factor for the outages.
Many people had to rely on wood or gas for heat heat or neighbors to help during this time. We managed but it gives you a greater respect for electricity and the men who work with it. There was talk of 50,000 homes without power. We were out for four days.
It was a wonderland out there so I took the camera and got some shots. The heavy snow on the branches was a thrilling site but also frightening as I stood under them.
:: Walk a block after the storm. ::
We had quite a few weeks lately of rare weather for us. Torrential rains which saturated the ground and allowing some trees with shallow roots to fall over. Large branches and more trees came down when we then got wet heavy icy snows shortly after the rain. Then for the first time I can remember
we has winds up to 155 km/hr out on the water. Probably just over 100 km/hr here close to the water.
I had heard that a very treed property just up from the water has many trees uprooted and my sister and I went to see what we could find with our cameras.
:: Rain one day. Snow another. ::
:: Evaporating Snow ::
There is this field that has captured my heart. In winter on a warm day the snow evaporates giving the effects of a mystical world. Even pictures taken only moments apart of the same scene are different.
The snow is gone now but I am happy I stopped to photo the last phase of it.
:: Just Outside ::
I fell in love with this image http://www.pbase.com/image/73589836
It reminded me of one day years ago when I looked at my windshield of my '65 Impala. It looked as if Walt Disney had commissioned Tinker Bell to dance on it with frosty feet. I wasn't much into taking pictures then but it always stuck in my mind how beautiful it was.
I took two pictures of my back door window to substitute Jack Frost. Phony Bologna but the best I could find.
Now today I have a new inspiration from http://www.pbase.com/jolka/enchanted_forest
and I wish to try some myself now that I am taking pictures.
I felt inspired by that truly wonderful image above by CIS (and hope it is alright to post the link) and went out to see if there were enough frost left to find something similar. Of course there was nothing but I had fun looking.
:: Not abandoned or restored ::
I was surprised to find this car parked along side a driveway on my mum's street. I photoed it and left it at that. Every time I passed it I admired the display. It even had Christmas light and greenery over the holidays.
I noticed another old vehicle on a gallery at http://www.pbase.com/davedebbenmoladatodd/image/73638108. This one is by Dave Finlay and quite a find. So I went back to take some more shots of my car which I was surprised to find bullet holes in the driver side door. Real or not they made it even more interesting to my imagination.
:: Sand Prople ::
Years ago when vacationing on the stormy west coast of Vancouver Island my family and I were walking on a beach where I spied this sand formation left by the receding tide. I had to stand on my tip-toes to get all the image in the shot. I used my trusty Nikon 100 film camera. Years later when playing with PS I decided to colorize the parts of the formation that took on human form. Here are both versions untouched except for the coloring.
:: R & R ::
R and R
This stands for Rain and Reflections.
I thought I would give it a try because I was so impressed with Linda's impressionistic gallery.
Her wonderful gallery can be seen here.... http://www.pbase.com/lellis53/impressionistic
No way do I think I can duplicate her work but I had fun playing at it.
PLEASE take the time to see each picture. Using the slideshow from upper right hand corner makes it easy. Thank you.
:: The day before. ::
The reason I called this gallery that is tomorrow is my birthday. OK There I said it. Just carry on Margot.
I was inspired by the back ground color behind a tree outside so I stayed in the house, it was chilly outside, and photoed it and more.
:: Spring Garden Stuff ::
:: testing new tele lens ::
It was raining so didn't get off the porch much. I was surprised that the lens gave the circle keyhole look but then when I thought about it of course what else could this digital camera do with the camera's external zoom lens. Not like my interior zoom as in my old Nikon. So I can live with that.
Any comments to help me with my lessons will be greatly appreciated.
I think I will be using it mostly for dof.
:: The underworld ::
--------I call this gallery The Underworld because I have turned the photos upside down.--------

SLIDESHOW(artificial_fog)
-----Some of these pictures could belong in the `Underworld` gallery but I chose to put them here.
-----I don`t have a lensbaby but I do carry with me my own fog. ;)-----
:: Mushrooms ::
Outdoors is teaming with mushrooms. Some I haven't noticed before.
Some that are there one day and gone the next. Must have been tasty for something.
