20-Inch Rodman Gun Pattern 1864
Two of these behemoths were cast at the Old Fort Pitt foundry in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. This gun weighed 115,200 pounds and could fire a solid shot weighing 1080 pounds a distance of 8000 yards. These guns were so enormous that a special railroad car had to be built for their transport.
