On our second night in Banff we decided to take a ride on the Bow Valley Parkway in the late evening to try and see some of the larger animals. Within 10 minutes we spotted this black bear about 20 feet above the road along a ridge. This was the best shot I got. Throughout the rest of the vacation we heard about people seeing Grizzlies on the same road but we did not see another bear.
