Last week I went out on the street with Sharon from the “Red Cross” (Wilkes-Barre, Pa.) We went out checking campsites and looking for homeless people on the streets of Wilkes-Barre, Pa.. This is the first time I went with Sharon, although we talked about doing it before. Sharon is an outreach worker, and we thought if we could combine our knowledge of the streets we might be more effective in getting information and help out, to the people that need it most. I’m very glad to have had this opportunity to go with Sharon. We stopped at the Church run food kitchen near lunchtime and met a number of people we knew. This is also a good way for people who don’t know you, to get used to seeing you around. We met Terri who you have met before on this log. She is the woman along with Nick her partner who had their campsite bulldozed a few months back. They have moved into another camp, which Sharon and I had visited earlier that morning. Anyway I was really glad to see Terri. I just like her so very much. She is a really kind and goodhearted person. This picture was taken outside the soup kitchen. Thanks Terri for your kind thoughts, and thanks Sharon for the wonderful work you do.
