Giant ice wall with water spurting through it. This is a view from a stone bridge down to a raging creek below. The ice wall shown here is about 40’ tall. In search of wild water with interesting ice formations during the cold snap last week, a friend and I located the “Spring Brook Reservoir” in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, not far from Wilkes-Barre. I had stumbled on this site a long time ago during a summer photo wander and remembered it’s rugged beauty. It is in a pretty remote area along a rural road and I wasn’t too sure I could find it again. Luck was with us, and we did locate the place. The ice formations were even better than I imagined they might be. Just beautiful! We were there over an hour, and only two cars passed during our stay. Now that I have “rediscovered” the spot I will be going back again soon.
