Amish and Mennonites frequently play a game called “Corner Ball”
or “eck balle”. My Mennonite friends tell me they play with the Amish on weekends. This shot is of Amish teenagers playing Corner Ball, in a field next to an all day auction and school fundraiser.

The rules are similar to dodge-ball, but it is played with a small hard ball. The playing field is covered with straw to protect players from injuries when they fall.
