14 - Where I Was Today

I walked to the grocery market this morning with my son. I don't usually buy canned vegetables, but they do look appealing all lined up on the shelves with their colorful labels promising fresh picked flavors. With a few exceptions, most don't live up to their promise though. LOL!

Excellent use of DOF

Oh yes very eyecatching display here, but I would not buy them in a tin, only fresh, or frozen like peas. Wonderful capture.

Aah Boris, you must try Butter Beans as they are delish! Otherwise, I agree. I've never seen so many varieties of green beans! Great perspective and DoF!

It makes for a great image all lined up! We try to avoid them too... I freeze as much as I can all summer :)

Oh yes, grocery shopping

Beautiful scene of vegetables... great light... I like what you did

Obviously you weren't buying for a week or so as you walked to the store.
nice

canned food is sometimes of better quality then fresh products,
but it is in our heads that fresh food is par definition better
great image, I like it

In the canned veggie section. I use some of these sometimes in stews and stuff. And, have been known to crack a can for a quick meal. :)

This is a colourful and cheerful scene, you presented it very well. All the little sale tags add to the visual interest too.

Wow you took this with your dslr! Brave.
It is an eyecatching shot.

This is a definitely great photo ---- but really, there's nothing in a can that can replace a fresh green bean! My motto is "only shop the perimeter of the grocery store" and stay out of the isles (where just about everything there has been processed in some way)

And they're on sale. You made this ordinary grocery aisle look very appealing with the angle and depth of field. V.

Great shot! I buy very few canned vegetables, but I agree that this is an eyecatching display! V

Well done Mary, a very nice perspective!
I agree with Mairead!!! I would be afraid to get into trouble!!

Very nice capture!!

You are braved taking pics in a supermarket - I'd be afraid I'd get thrown out. I buy tinned tomatoes and beans & other pulses.

I typically never buy canned veggies either; however, keep in mind that they are usually canned at their freshest state ~ so.... not a terrible option.
This is a great use of dof Mary! :)

Good marketing. Boris knows best :-)

I agree with Boris, except for the vacuum packed corn in the winter. The regular stuff is like mush. Great pic though. I got in trouble for taking a picture in a store a few weeks back. Evidently they had a rule against it.

I know it´s tempting..but that is the trick! The wrong aisle...the fresh stuff is on the other one:)!!
I never buy canned food, ecxept for white beans, because they take forever to cook and tomatoes for sauces in wintertime only!
