Washington National Cathedral

Officially called the Cathedral Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul, the Washington National Cathedral is the sixth largest cathedral in the world, and the second largest in the U.S. The top of the center Gloria in Excelsis Tower is the highest point in Washington, DC.

The beautiful Gothic-style structure features 100' ceilings in the main (Nave) level, over 200 stained glass windows and hundreds of sculptures, carvings and other art. The construction took 83 years to complete - the final stone was set in September 1990.
