Todai-ji, "Great Eastern Temple"
The worlds largest wooden structure, all the more impressive given that this is a 2/3rds reconstruction of an older building.
The purpose of all this is to house the Daibutsu (Great/Large Buddha) statue, one of the worlds largest bronze statues of Buddha.
