The waning crescent moon passed within about 3 moon diameters of Mars on the evening of November 26, 2007.
I used my Nikon D70, Nikkor 80-200mm f/2.8zoom and Tamron 1.4x teleconverter on a tripod to get this shot. It's actually a composite of two photos -- one short exposure to capture detail of the moon, and another longer exposure for Mars.
