The top! This is the John Garner Pass - the higest point of our trek on the Paine Circuit. There is snow on either side of it, however the pass itself is actually clear. Four days prior to this, at the Laguna Amarga Guarderia (our starting point), Conaf rangers told us that the pass was closed due to excessive snow and that we would be unable to complete the circuit. This put a lot of people off it, however Andreas were on a mission and we thought that we'd attempt it anyway. It paid off and were were extremely happy to have gotten over the pass. We were the only people to go over that day. The previous day, four people went over from the other direction.
