I was in Durango and saw what I was told was a Black-Tailed Squirrel. It appeared to have little rabbit-style ears - of course not as big. The tail was black and white. I was told that it changes it's fur color to white in winter - somewhat like an ermine would do. I cannot find this squirrel in Google.

I have a squirrel in my woods in Fennville, Michigan that I cannot identify. It has a white body color (short hair, almost looks shaved) with a brown head, paws, and tail. It is small and appears to stay on the ground, foraging for food. It is a pretty little thing, and I wonder if it is something special or merely a hybrid of a chipmunk and a squirrel (if there is such a thing). How can I identify this little guy?
