Cologne Cathedral is impossible to miss: not only is it the third largest Gothic cathedral in the world – after those of Seville and Milan – but it is also located directly outside Cologne train station, a stone's throw from the banks of the Rhine river, to which it defiantly turns its back, towering 157 meters above it.
