Economic prosperity and the desire to buy one's paradise led to a profusion of considerable donations. Parish enclosures appeared in Breton villages just as religious buildings were rising from their ashes. They were composed of four structures: a monumental gate behind which were assembled a church, a calvary and an ossuary.
