Translated as the Bay of the Dead, there are a number of legends to explain the name, such as the bodies of shipwrecked seaman would be washed up here by the strong currents in the area, or that the dead were taken from here to the Druid Priestesses on the Isle of Sein. The bay is also thought by some to be the location of the lost city of Ys, the ancient capital of the region.
