Buffalo

Many times, this dancer was photographed as he came around the circle. Gradually, I became aware that his steps, body language, and dance brought to mind the image of a buffalo. (Maybe I was too long in the sun.) Choreography? It was not his costume. He was a man who danced for others in the persona of a buffalo; he also danced to renew himself. He was different to watch. It seemed that the longer he went around in the heat and the sun, the more energy he got. He was alone, despite the closeness of the other dancers. It was spiritual in nature. Sorry I can't explain it better.

Otherwise, Dean, this is what his card reads:
"Chief White Buffalo....Man Many Feathers....Medicine man, Spiritual Healer and Guide Past Lives, Shapeshifter, Ghost Dancer. Removal of Blockages, Sweat Lodges, Alcohol & Drug Counselling, Life Skills, Sexual Abuse Counselling....Understanding the Healing of Unconditional Love Harmony and Peace.
Photographer's note:
This image is a small composite of the raw camera images. The buffalo and headdress are from live animals elsewhere.
I am originally from the Prairies and know that buffalo or runs with thunder is powerful and much revered as spiritual protector and supernatural helper. It was the buffalo that provided food, clothing and shelter to the people. The supernatural power of the buffalo was greater than that of even the Grizzly Bear.
