Charge

On Saturday, John Edwards and Claudette Billie--and on Sunday, Claudette's Aunt Laura (who most definitely brought the best seat in the house) helped me out at my 1st PowWow. They explained events and the significance of events, named names, and were great conversationalists. (However, the spelling of names is mostly my own creation.)

With patience and good nature, they explained the public sharing of grief, friendship lines, and adoption that took place at this Powwow. All of these events occured in a a respectful, non-private manner. I hope politicians do not intrude into this arena of celebration, do not use up the good will generated celebrating Native culture.

If you look hard, you can see in the midst of the Chargers --the face and white hat of Jimmy, Claudette's Grandfather. He was majorly responsible for the new arbour to be ready in time for this PowWow.
