The main square in Antwerpen is called Grote Markt.
It’s a little like a big triangle and this feature already makes it precious, since usually squares are not triangles…
Then the sides of this triangle are made by amazing and absolutely splendid Renaissance buildings, which are so rich to look like wedding cakes.
One of them is the City Hall, of course we took also some pictures of it, so joyful in the day of our visit, in spite of the gloomy weather, so covered with multicoloured flags and so, so...so …City Hall like!
Maybe I’ll post the City Hall photo too, even though it looks a little too much postcard style.
What gave a special feeling to our first impact with Grote Markt was that we arrived when they were celebrating a wedding and all the guests were merrily waiting for the happy couple under the pouring rain, all nicely dressed showing a noble indifference for the hostile temperature.
They were much braver than us, we took quickly a few pictures, then we looked for a shelter.
