The flat country, which had cathedrals as only mountains...

Antwerpen - Belgium

The town of Rubens and the « Sinjoren ».
Antwerpen welcomes us with a canopy of dark heavy clouds and its impressive main square.
The cathedral is the biggest gothic church of Belgium and Holland.
It had taken two centuries to build it.
Once they did things calmly and well, they had to last forever.

ello Marisa,

Some trivia I hope you like :
As you saw there is only one "lacelike" tower; There were meant to be two but they ran out of money.
Some time ago - I suppose when they started renovating - they calculated the strains and weight of the cathedral. It seems that had the second tower been built the whole structure would have collapsed!
Secondly the word "sinjoren" : one time Antwerp and the Netherlands were Spanisch : I don't know if the citizens found themselves so important they called themselves "Senhors" or that other people called them that for being arrogant.Anyway the name stayed and is worn proudly by real "Antwerpenaren".
Hope you liked it

Your perspective and the composition are both very good. Great work. (Don't fall back next time photographing right up towards the skies.)

And some mountains hah??? A miracle of architecture rather than natures...
