It was Filippo Juvarra who designed the elliptical church in 1718. Since 2001, the choir area and its adjacent spaces have been granted to the Romanian Orthodox Church. The Church of Santa Croce is located on the south side of Piazza Carlo Emanuele II, better known as Piazza Carlina.
