Piazza Carlo Emanuele II is one of the main squares in Turin. It is universally known as "Piazza Carlina"—to the extent that it is sometimes even labeled as such on street maps—taking its name from the Savoyard ruler Carlo Emanuele II, under whose reign the city’s most significant urban expansion of that era took place.
