Coyote feasting on a bison calf. We didn't see the actual kill.
We arrived just a few minutes later.
Because the bison herd kept chasing the coyote of, we had to wait for six hours to get this shot.
And the coyote had to wait for six hours too before he got his well deserved meal.
_Yellowstone, may 2017.

Yes it is sad to see such a scene, but this is survival for the animals. What a reward after this long wait, but it was worth the wait. Bravo, Marco !

a brave hunter to risk the wrath of bison...the fresh and tender meat must have made the effort worth while....a well timed shot that tells the story..
