Tunnel Hyppolite Lafontaine

After the Chicken Broth

C’est le 11 mars 1967 que fut inauguré
le pont-tunnel Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine.
D’une longueur totale de près 6,5 km,
le complexe formé du pont et du tunnel
constitue un tronçon stratégique de l’autoroute transcanadienne.
Il est formé d’un pont de 457 m de longueur, reliant l’île Charron à la Rive-Sud,
et du plus grand tunnel sous-marin au Canada d’une longueur de 1,5 km.
