After some rest, and being bothered by vehicles driving on the beach, some that would pass only a few feet from our friend. (People can be such jerks) I guess this is a good time to say that I was using a very long lens, out of respect for his personal space.
After some rest, he slowly waddled North about 100 yards, where he lay on the sand and died.
We all have our time, and birds die everyday, but it was poignant to watch him and his grace and dignity, Jeeps not withstanding.
