Note unique flower and bracts on tall erect stem. Pre-bloomed flower head is held inside long (1-3 inches) pyrimidal green bracts. Purple (ray) petals of varying length (multi-diameter), with yellow anthers on black filaments. Green bracts are longer than outer purple petals. Clasping leaves.
