Oreostemma alpigenum

Common Names: Tundra Aster, Alpine Aster, Anderson's Mountain Crown

SYN: Aster alpigenus

H&C and USDA give three varieties of which ours is var. alpigenus.
var. andersonii: Cascades of central OR to CA.
var. alpigenus: OM, WA Cascades, and Wallowa Mts.
var. haydenii: MT to w. WY.

Note thin oblanceolate (long and narrow) somewhat fleshy leaves with rounded tips. Prostate reddish-purple flower stem that upturns. Found at high elevations.
