Common Name: Bingen Lupine, Suksdorf's Lupine

SYN: (Lupinus sulphureus var. subsaccatus)

USDA and ITIS lists 3 varieties all found in eastern WA, Wiki says var. dubius is not recognized.

var. subsaccatus: (Suksdorf's Lupine) WA, OR, ID, MT, BC (rare)

No information on what the differences are. BCFlora shows var. subsaccatus with 9 relatively small leaflets.
H&C notes the 9-15 silky hairy leaflets, (hairier on top) that are 2-8 in. long. Petals are blue. Flower on short stalk.
Grows on dry slopes.
