One of the world's largest buildings devoted entirely to
rare books and manuscripts and is Yale's principal repository
for literary archives, early manuscripts, and rare books.
Uniquely designed. A building inside an outer shell
(Appears cantilevered but notice the outer wall support columns),
is like a shoe box with another box inside).
Both structurally independent. The outer shell uses
translucent granite to filter light so as not to harm
any of the manuscripts.
