Epilobium hornemannii

Common Names: Hornemann's Willowherb, Alpine Willowherb

USDA lists two varieties:
var. behringianum: BC, AK
var. hornemannii: wNA, Canada

This genus self-pollinates and has many hybrids. From T&G, E. oregonese, E. clavatum, E. lactiflorum and E. anagallidifolium are very difficult to distinguish and considered by some to be phases of the same species. Note flowers well above leaves (most other species of this genus are more compact), notched petals, recurved sepals. Found growing with Mimulus tilingii var. caespitosus
