BALI, INDONESIA 2003: The Year After...

The year after the bombing, Bali was never the same again. I went to this beautiful island in Indonesia on October 2003 during our quarter break from school.

Vendors were complaining about the slow business. Hotel staff were unaccustomed to low hotel occupancy. Prices of Souvenir items went down.

One thing didn't change: the Balinese culture is still as colorful as ever.

And the PEOPLE: the most friendly I've ever encountered.

NIKON COOLPIX 4500 was my camera then. I relied much on PP to create a shallow DOF. Though unsatisfied with my shots, I still consider my Bali experience as one of the most educational when it comes to learning more about photography.

As a viewer I too would echo Ron's words above but also,I bessech you !! Please return my breath! I can only thank you for your inspirational and your life affirming photographs. Each one, and I have viewed them all here at your personal site and on DCP, is a page from national geographic. Finding your pictures was like the day I stumbled across a cornish charcoal maker in the depths of his private wood.A secret too good to pass without a moment to dwell and contemplate. Once again many many thanks you have reduced a 40 year old man to tears well done my friend and may your eye be forever clear. P.S. sorry to gush but I am not one to keep my feelings to myself.
