I resigned from my position with Xerox Data Systems
(formally Scientific Data Systems)
in El Segundo California,
and set out for NYC.
I spent the summer in the Southwest. Yes, I was impressed by the movie "Easy Rider"!
Left LA early May, arrived in NYC early Oct. Put over 5,000 miles on the bike.

In this photo, I'm returning to my campsite from the store (20 miles). I have dinner wrapped in the red towel.
This is a good part of the road, farther up it is a dry creek wash.
