You've got mail

A trickle of Christmas cards are arriving in the post - a sign of changing times as the younger generation send their greetings via social media and the cost of postage means people are more selective about who they include on their Christmas card list.

I like the wax stamp. Great DOF and reflections. V

Great Christmas image.

Beautiful image. It is a tradition on the wane for sure. I still send cards to all the people who don't live near me, long time friends and family. I get very few in return but that's okay. V

I should also have mentioned... the texture of the wax has been really well captured here and that, along with the green colour, has a very Christmassy vibe to it.

Also, I think, once upon a time Christmas cards were a once a year opportunity for people to let distant family and friends know what they've been up to over the previous year. These days, there's hardly any need. I've received a grand total of 1 physical Christmas cards this year... from my boss. I've sent zero simply because I can't think of anyone who I'd (a) want to and (b) haven't been in touch with recently to wish them a buon natale anyway.

There is nothing like receiving letters and cards by real mail!! We have just had a month long mail strike, so all chances of sending and receiving cards is pretty much nil. Still, I enjoy your well composed shot, and can dream of mail starting to move again one day. V
