The most exciting thing I did today was to go grocery shopping in the nearby town of Newry.
As I left the carpark, I was struck by the blandness of the architecture.
There was nothing to indicate that it was in Ireland (even though a minority of Newry citizens would argue they are in the UK).
It's same bland style of retail outlets to be found anywhere with nothing to distinguish it.
In fact a row of old buildings, one of which had been livery stables, was demolished to make way for the new Lidl, even though a nearby shopping centre is half empty.
