Imitation, they say, is the sincerest form of flattery.
Ever since I saw a photo of a seedhead against the setting sun
on my Nikon app, I thought it was something I would like to try.
With dandelion clocks dotted everywhere it seemed an easy on
to set up. But the sun was sinking very low, the auto focus
was hunting like mad, I had no-one to hold the dandelion.
So, there I was, perched on top of a field gate to get some
height, holding the dandelion in one hand and the camera
in the other. I'm sure the motorist who drove past thought
I was crazy but I quite like this result. In fact, I feel a
gallery of dandelion clocks coming on.

That´s a beautiful photo.
Can´t wait for the dandelions to bloom so I can test.
There wouldn´t be many pics taken if I cared about people wondering what I´m up to, crawling around in the flowerbeds and ditches with my camera, with a bored white standardpoodle sitting by my side. I guess my neighbours are used to the sight!

And manual focus is perfect for these kind of pics! ;o)

Crazy for art, getting the right light can drive us crazy, but we know deep down it's the rest of the world, not us, that are crazy not to see the beauty we see :))
Doug Cruden24-May-2010 21:20
LOL, I see what you mean!! This is a great shot Mairead, your endeavours paid off - I really like that rich colour at the bottom right of the dandelion...fab!
