I probably should have kept this for Valentine's Day but when a shower of
petals fell from some roses which I bought earlier in the week I decided I
would put them to use before throwing them out.
It's a bit of a cliche really, implying memories of a lost love when in fact
the letter was one my mother wrote me when I was at Irish college
one summer but I thought the pink envelope suited the mood.
'Romance' is a piece of classical guitar music which my husband used to
play when we first met, in the days before I realised that he really prefers
squealing blues solos.
So, the message, I guess, is that things aren't always as they seem.

It's only a cliche if we're tired of it, and I'm not, so it isn't (for me anyways) delicate and lovely, and a fond reminder of what an envelope looks like.... :-)

Many times we prefer the illusion even knowing that's what it is.
