A Winter's Tales

Inspired by David's (globalgadabout) entry to the Pink Floyd challenge.
It's winter, time for staying indoors, for reading, for learning. These are
some of the books I hope to read in the coming months, although one of
them was in a similar photo I posted last year for the TITC ' Books'!
There's a couple there by some of my favourite authors, one bought
mistakenly for holiday reading without realising that it's regarded as 'difficult'
so I didn't venture beyond the cover, and others which I should study
if I want to get to grips with my new Mac and camera.
And best of all there's the language course for preparing
for next year's holidays, when hopefully we will be returning to Italy.
I'm tired tonight so, rather than tackling any of these or even commenting,
I'm going to slob in front of the telly.
Thanks to everyone who responded to my remarks about learning photoshop
yesterday. While a lot of my images are posted more or less straight from the
camera, I have to admit to a bit to tweaking. Up to now it's mostly be on an
old version of iPhoto and of late I'm dabbling in Nikon Capture NX2, nothing
fancy, mostly cropping, levels & curves, and re-sizing.

Yes, as Laine has said, I will be doing lots of reading too. These books say a lot about you. Well done.

As we head into the " too hot to do anything " stage, reading is a popular pastime !!

Now we know what you read! LOL. Very nicely done still life. Nicely composed with good control of the lighting.

this should liven up those dreary winter nights..it's an ambitious pile of books to get through...an absorbing look at this scene...and well done to control the colour so expertly..V

LOL Everyone needs to "slob in front of the telly" from time to time. The books will be there when you're ready.

That's quite an ambitious reading list, Mairead! A lovely stack of books. Beautiful still life composition. Great lighting! This one doesn't need to be photo-shopped :) V~

I don't know whether to hope for along Winter or that you are a fast reader :-) Great composition and lighting on this image.

Ah, slobbing out in front of the telly, it's what winter was made for :o) Enjoy the books - they should keep you entertained for a while!

It looks like a bundle that will be rearranged often over the next few months.

That looks an interesting heap of books and I'm sure that you'll make great inroads into them all!
