In Robinson Park, this quartzite boulder weighs about 24 tons, is 10 feet high, and 400,000 years old. It originated from South Dakota and was deposited near here by a glacier during the last ice age. It was brought to Lawrence in 1929 for the city's 75th anniversary. Attached to it is a nameplate celebrating the Lawrence founders.
