John Day Fossil Beds National Monument.
I spent one week at JODA, photographing the fossils, the park, the new visitor center, and planning web multimedia features.
this is in a place called 'blue basin'
these are fossil strata hills from a geologic era called 'turtle cove'
in blue basin, this shows scale by showing a person
blue basin walls
beautiful tree on the trail to blue basin
surface of mars - close up terrain at painted hills
the 'kimberly dike', a volcanic structure
just a stop on the side of the road: the kimberly mini mart.
a magpie
painted hills with person for scale
