Les Voltigeurs de Québec Guest of Royal Canadian Legion Mohawk Branch 219 Monument Unveiling

On June 21, 2013, the Voltigeurs de Québec participated as honoured guests in a ceremony commemorating Kahnawake's sacrifices during the War of 1812. A monument was unveiled honouring the Mohawk communitie's war dead. The event was organized by the community's Royal Canadian Legion Mohawk Branch 219 presided by Louis P. Stacey.

The Voltigeurs canadiens, today perpetuated by the Voltigeurs de Québec, Canada's oldest active French-Canadian military unit, were comrade-in-arms with Mohawk warriors at the Battle of Chateauguay in 1813 as well as other battles.
