Yes, very hard to do. First, it is difficult to get two flying ducks close together enough to fit in a camera frame - that is a challange in itself.
Second, because of the zoom that I use, depth of field is restricted - I am also surprised that the second duck is also in focus.
Contrary to the majority of my images which are slightly cropped for composition purposes, this particluar image is a half crop, there was at least a third duck in the original which I cropped out.
