Again from my files. Our Snowy seems to be sinking in the deep snow.
Probably taken in the early winter afternoon around 14h, because the bird isn't casting a long shadow - I can't trust the canera file's time stamp.
It's late enough that the snow's hue is changing colour and the eyes are open - they are usually squinted and shadowed when the sun is high in the sky.
Taken with my then Canon EOS 5D Mark III handheld @ 1/1000, f11, ISO 400 with a +0.7 exposure compensation. Lots of tiny light reflection sparkles cloned out and off course, composition adjusted.
